McNeese State Forensics Off to a Busy Start

The McNeese State University forensics team started their 2013-2014 competition year early this year with the Swing on the Swamp at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette from September 14-15.  The swing was a venue for returning members Morgan Authement and Stephen Doerfler to begin competition for the year.

Morgan and Stephen represented McNeese in both public address and interpretive events.

Morgan narrowly missed placing in the final round in Impromptu Speaking on the 14th, earning high scores in her preliminary rounds.

Stephen placed both days, earning a 5th place finish in Dramatic Interpretation on day one and a 6th place finish in Impromptu Speaking on day two.

The next week, September 21 and 22, Texas State University-San Marcos and the University of Texas at Austin co-hosted a swing on Texas State's campus.  The team welcomed returning members Corey Greineisen and Cy Vidrine back to competition, as well as new member Jon Hensley to his first rounds.

The team now looks ahead to the Rice University competition this weekend, the 28th and 29th of September.

GO POKES!
