Debating at Rice University

The McNeese State University forensics team concluded their first month of competition with an action-packed weekend at Rice University in Houston, TX from Friday 9/27 to Sunday, 9/29.  The tournament included an NPDA debate tournament and two individual event tournaments over the course of three days.

This weekend witnessed the return of team Vice President A'renica Mumford to competition.  New team member Kyla Standley also began her competitive career.

The debate pairing of Corey Greineisen and A'renica Mumford reached the quarterfinal round on Friday night.  Debaters Morgan Authement and Stephen Doerfler II also earned points for McNeese.

In Sunday's individual events competition, Greineisen earned 8th place in Impromptu Speaking.

The team will enjoy this weekend off before traveling to the South Dakota State University's Jackrabbit Joust over fall break.
