Pokes' Success is Big in Texas

From November 1-2, the McNeese State University Forensics Team competed at the Texas Intercollegiate Forensics Association (TIFA) fall tournament.  McNeese entered competitors in both NPDA Debate and individual events.

Over the course of the weekend, the debate team of Corey Greineisen and A'renica Mumford reached the quarterfinal round out of 25 debate teams.  Additionally, Greineisen earned 7th Place overall speaker during the debate competition.

Greineisen also enjoyed success in the individual events portion, reaching the semi-final round of extemporaneous speaking.  Competitors Morgan Authement and Kyla Standley performed well in the dramatic duo category, ending next out of the final round.

As a team, McNeese State placed 4th overall among schools with both debate and individual events at the tournament.  There were 18 schools present at the event.

McNeese ends their competitive semester next week in Owensboro, KY.
