Shonell Bacon has been teaching at McNeese since 2001--originally as a graduate teaching assistant and then as an English instructor, an adjunct for both the English and Mass Communication departments, and now as a mass communication instructor. She received her master's degrees in English (MA) and Creative Writing-Fiction (MFA) from McNeese in 2004, and she received her master's degree in Mass Communication from Towson University in 2001. Her BA, in Communication Arts, was received from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland (now Notre Dame of Maryland University). Currently, she is ABD in her pursuit of a PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech; she plans to defend her dissertation and graduate in Fall 2013.
